Defects Leakage

Defects are the deviation of the actual and expected result of software functionality. Defects are commonly generated by development errors in non-production environments but from time to time defects remain undiscovered in production releases and we call them “leakage”. These production defects are potentially harmful and may evolve into critical issues. A mature Agile Team should be capable of reducing leakage with the passage of sprints.

    • Max. Leakage accepted
The maximum percentage of Defects Leakage accepted. 10% could be a reasonable number to start by.
    • Defects
Provide the detected code defects for a given iteration (i.e in-sprint defects).
    • Leakage
Provide the issues raised in Production caused by code defects from the correspondent previous iteration.
